MX Daemōn is the official Michigan preliminary to the National Monster Xtreme Pageant, one of the most respected titles in the monster drag world.
Competitors face four trials designed to test creativity, stage command, and monstrous identity.
Only one will claim the crown and advance to Nationals.
The MX Daemōn Champion advances to represent the Great Lakes Region at the National Monster Xtreme Pageant.

Competition Categories
Four categories. One crown. Show us what you’re made of.
Human Interview — 25 pts/judge
A one-on-one, ten-minute interview with our judges. Show your authenticity, professionalism, and charm. Business casual attire required. No political or religious discussions.
The Calling — Theme: SANGRE — 30 pts/judge
Summon your inner monster with a blood-soaked reveal — without a single drop spilled! Present two looks in one, using texture, illusion, and inventive materials. 2-minute time limit. Write your own MC intro.
High Monster Fashion — 50 pts/judge
Strut the runway with a horror-inspired, fashion-forward look that screams elegance and terror. Curate your music and write your MC intro. 2-minute time limit.
Talent — 50 pts/judge
Captivate the audience with a hauntingly creative performance — max 7 minutes. Any talent that captivates is welcome, with strict safety guidelines. No fire, excessive glitter, live/dead animals, or strobe lights.
Official Rules & Regulations
- Age Requirement: All contestants must be at least 21 years of age by November 2026.
- Human Interview Attire: Business casual required.
- The Calling: Be as creative as possible — embody your inner monster. Theme: SANGRE.
- High Monster Fashion: Aim for a fashion-forward horror look.
- Talent Performances: No longer than 7 minutes.
- Conduct: Bullying, harassment, and discrimination of any kind are strictly prohibited.
- Substance Use: Contestants must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the event.
- Props & Special Effects: No fire, excessive glitter, confetti, live/dead animals, or strobe lights.
- Fake Blood: Permitted within system guidelines as long as it does not splash, spray, or drip on the floor or stage.

Admission for Assistants (dressers, dancers): $5 each, paid at check-in. All others pay full admission pricing.
